Mike nails it! Mindset Self-Mastery is exactly that! Everything starts with your mindset. How else will you change your lifestyle, your body image & eating habits if you don’t rethink the way you’ve approached these areas before? Mike looks for people who are serious about their health journey and the way they view it, not just the way they want to look.
In order for it to be successful, he educates them on how they must learn to value that journey and know there is a cost to it. First thing he does is help you to recognize those excuses which you thought were “reasons”. Once those are identified, then Mike can help you to soar and succeed.
He works on current and obtainable goals, proper mechanics & flow of movement, education and preparation for meal planning for the week, creating a sustainable path with current life happenings and getting YOU to be responsible for owning the changes you want in life.
For me, I came from a marathon and triathlete background (seven IRONMANs) so I had already achieved “greatness” and pushed myself to the limit. But endurance activities do not sustain the body plus I was fighting my body’s natural tendency to store calories with having done these events for over a decade and a half. Mike’s roundtable sessions as well as his Facebook group page have helped me to redirect my train of thought.
I have a couple of injuries and chronic things that Mike has worked with me on and I am amazingly stronger than I was doing my first IRONMAN. My flexibility and strength is something I am now impressed with. Injuries are not an excuse to not move as Mike knows with his experience and knowledge how to position you so that you get fluidity out of your joints and move within what your body will allow as it heals.
I am proof of that. He worked beside and communicated with my ART guy so that I would have a team behind me rather than a variety of individuals doing their own assessments with me.
Having trained with Mike for ten months now has given me such a new look on life. I love my body with whatever shape it is in because I’m starting with my mindset, having learned to let go of those excuses, taking charge of what I buy & eat, plan ahead and accordingly, don’t beat myself up when I have an off day, enjoy & recognize new levels of fitness, KEEP MY GOAL MY FOCUS, and am self-motivated on the days in-between his workouts.
Mike has taught & educated me on the skills needed so when I travel, I check out the hotel amenities online and nearby groceries so that I can set myself up with healthy options. When I am working an event, I have my cooler filled with nutritious items that will sustain my energy and keep a few stretching exercises on hand to work out kinks. His approach to the holiday season as just another season and everything in moderation has helped the angst and overindulgence of holiday food and drinks. Putting those indulgences in their rightful place gives a sense of empowerment.
Just recently my Mom got an unexpected kidney and so life went crazy but because I was prepared and was already in the habit to know how to shop at the grocery store, set my mind to make healthy choices so I was in the best emotional state possible to make and deal with decisions & direction. Mike shows you how to stay in control and learn not to just give in as these things happen continuously as a part of life. Breaking those habits of emotionally eating or go-to cravings is so freeing!
We owe it to ourselves, our family & friends to be our best. Mike is that catalyst. No excuses!!
